Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: screw n.1, driver n.
Etymology: < screw n.1 + driver n. In sense 2 punningly after screw n.1 12 and drive v., driver n. used with reference to riding or driving horses.
1. A tool used to turn a screw into or out of its place, typically consisting of a metal shaft with a shaped tip which fits into the head of the screw and a long slender handle.
