1922 Chem. Abstr. 16 1513 The formula C20H40O3 [sic] was selected to represent this unsatd. alc. and the name selachyl alcohol given to it.
1944 Jrnl. Biol. Chem. 155 448 Selachyl alcohol has been isolated from natural sources so far only as an oil.
1964 Oceanogr. & Marine Biol. 2 177 The most abundant alcoholic component of the alkoscydiglycerides is invariably selachyl alcohol, followed by chimyl alcohol and then by batyl alcohol.
