Now historical.
A former monetary unit of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (1967–71) and subsequently Zaire (1971–97), with a value of one-hundredth of a likuta (see likuta n.).The 10-sengi coin was the only denomination of the sengi ever issued.

1967 Times 26 June 17/6 The Congo devalued its currency by about two-thirds yesterday and introduced a new system of zaires, makuta and senghi.
1987 A. Room Dict. Coin Names 192 Sengi, the smallest main monetary unit of Zaire... The name is a native one, that of the Senga (Nsenga) people who originated from what is now Zaire, but who today have settled in the Zambezi River area of eastern Zambia. The unit was introduced in 1967 and there is now only a 10-sengi coin as the lowest denomination.
