Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Bohemian n., Bohemian adj., -ize suffix.
Etymology: Partly < Bohemian n. + -ize suffix, and partly (in sense 2) < Bohemian adj. + -ize suffix.
1. intransitive. To have or adopt a socially unconventional, artistically inclined lifestyle, esp. while travelling; to live or behave like a bohemian (see Bohemian n. 3). Often with about, around. Also transitive with it in the same sense.The prevalent sense in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
