a. sicca rupee (also †rupee sicca), originally, a newly-coined rupee, accepted at a higher value than those worn by use; latterly, a rupee coined under the Government of Bengal from 1793, and legally current till 1836, of a greater weight than the Company's rupee.

Etymology: elliptical for modern Latin keratoconjunctivitis sicca.
Pathology.
The symptom of reduced or no lachrymation, with consequent dryness and inflammation of the conjunctiva, characteristic of Sjögren's syndrome; used attributively as sicca syndrome to designate the occurrence of this symptom in the absence of rheumatoid arthritis.
