单词 simultanagnosia
释义

simultanagnosian.

/ˌsɪməltənaɡˈnəʊsɪə/
Etymology: < German simultanagnosie (I. Wolpert 1924, in Zentralbl. f. d. Gesamte Neurol. u. Psychiatrie XXXV. 445), < German simultan simultaneous + Greek ἀγνωσία ignorance (compare agnosia n.).
Psychology.
The loss or absence of the ability to experience perceived elements, such as the details of a picture, as components of a whole. The form simultagnosia appears to have arisen as a misprint (see quot. 1961); and afterwards to have been taken, on the basis of its supposed etymology, to be a term for the ability that is absent in simultanagnosia (see quot. 19701).
