Etymology: < Latin sōlāris: see -ary suffix2 and compare solar adj.
Obsolete.
The various senses of the n. solary given by Blount Glossogr. (1656) are merely copied from Cooper's Thesaurus s.v. Solarium (two entries). In the second ed. of Sir T. Browne's Pseud. Ep. vi. xii. solary is a misprint for salary.
