释义

sonden.

Brit. /sɒnd/, U.S. /sɑnd/

Compare German Sonde (see radiosonde n.).In sense 2 used as a shortening of ballon-sonde n. and radiosonde n. (probably partly with reinterpretation of these loanwords as English compounds).
