Etymology: < the names of Stanford University and Alfred Binet (1857–1911).
Psychology.
Used attributively and absol. to designate the revision and extension of the Binet-Simon intelligence tests (see Binet-Simon n.) undertaken by L. M. Terman and first published in 1916, which established the concept of an intelligence quotient.
