Generalized enlargement or prominence of lymphoid tissue, esp. in children; a syndrome characterized by this.Often regarded as a cause of or contributing factor in sudden death, esp. when accompanied by enlargement of the thymus.

2003 R. Herbert Whodunit? 73/2 An acknowledged, if poorly defined, entity in pathology until two or three decades ago, status lymphaticus is now regarded as nonexistent, a form of words used by the pathologist where the postmortem examination failed to reveal the cause of death.
