Etymology: < sub- prefix + disjunctive adj., after classical Latin subdisiunctīvus (in logic) partly disjunctive, in post-classical Latin also (in grammar) designating a type of conjunction (9th cent.), itself after Byzantine Greek ὑποδιαζευκτικός . With use as noun compare disjunctive n.
