释义 | suey pown. U.S. slang. Now rare. A sponge or rag used to clean and cool an opium pipe. ΚΠ 1886 Waycross (Georgia) Headlight 19 May A long needle (yen hauck) on which the opium is cooked; a small horn box (yin hop) to hold the opium;..a sponge (suey pow) with which to wash off the surface of the bowl. 1926 Variety 29 Dec. 7/4 The dopes and hop heads, with their ‘stem’,..‘sui pow’, [etc.]. 1954 D. W. Maurer & V. H. Vogel Narcotics & Narcotic Addiction i. 38 After each smoke, or whenever the pipe gets hot, the bowl is cooled and wiped off with a suey-pow, which is a damp pad about the size and shape of a small powder-puff.
