Etymology: < post-classical Latin (rare) acetuosus (1556 or earlier) < classical Latin acētum vinegar (see acetum n.) + -ōsus -ose suffix1; compare -uous suffix. Compare earlier acetous adj.
Chemistry. Obsolete. rare.
