(in humans) a muscle of the forearm which originates from the humerus, ulna, and ligaments of the elbow joint and inserts into the radius. Also supinator muscle. Cf. pronator n. 1.The muscle now known as the supinator has also been called the supinator radii brevis or short supinator (of the radius). The other supinator of the human forearm is the biceps brachii (biceps of the brachium), which has also been called the supinator radii longus or long supinator (of the radius).
