单词 bouce jane
释义

bouce Janen.

Origin: Probably a variant or alteration of another lexical item. Etymons: Middle English douce iayn, doousiane.
Etymology: Probably an error for Middle English douce iayn, doousiane in the same meaning, probably itself < douce adj. + jaune adj., with reference to the honey and saffron in some versions of the recipe, although compare also the forms douce ame , douce iame (which could perhaps reflect an alteration, with reversal of the elements, of amidoun , variant of amydon n., or otherwise show influence from that word).
Obsolete rare.
A dish in olden cookery, consisting of minced fowl boiled in milk with pot-herbs, currants, etc.
