释义 | tarbetn. Scottish regional. A neck of land, an isthmus; hence, a portage between two lochs or navigable channels. (Also, a proper name of villages, etc. so situated.) ΚΠ 1843 J. Sinclair Statist. Acct. Scotl. VII. 136 A narrow isthmus or tarburt over which boats were drawn. 1875 W. McIlwraith Guide Wigtownshire 64 Advantage was taken of the conformation of the land to form a tarbet.
