Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin terminus ad quem.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin terminus ad quem (a1250 in Albertus Magnus, Phys. 5. 2. 2; also in Aquinas, Roger Bacon, Duns Scotus, etc.) < classical Latin terminus terminus n. + ad to + quem , accusative of quī which (see who pron.). Compare terminus a quo n.
