Of or pertaining to the ancient city of Thebes on the Nile, formerly a centre of Egyptian civilization; spec. noting the Sahidic version of the Bible. Thebaic marble, Thebaic stone, the syenite of Thebes and Upper Egypt, famed in ancient times as material for columns, pillars, vases, etc.
