1. An arrowhead which is broad and typically barbed, now esp. one used in hunting; an arrow having such a head. Also as a modifier, chiefly in broadhead arrow. Cf. broad arrowhead n. 3aIn early use sometimes not as a fixed collocation.Modern broadheads are of various types, having between two and six cutting edges that are either fixed or designed to open on impact.
