Speech which condemns a person as trash (see trash n.1 4); (Sport) ostentatiously insulting or boastful rhetoric delivered with the intention of demoralizing, intimidating, or humiliating an opponent; (also, in extended use) any derisory or boastful statement or statements.

intransitive. To deliver trash talk; (esp. in Sport) to bad-mouth or insult an opponent in an ostentatious or boastful manner. Also occasionally transitive: to (attempt to) demoralize (an opponent) with trash talk.
