Etymology: Short for tween-age n., after teen n.2 Compare earlier tweenie n.
colloquial (chiefly North American).
A person who is nearly, or has only just become, a teenager. Frequently attributive. See also tweenager n.While the age to which tween applies varies, it is nearly always within the range of eight to fourteen years old. The term is now often used in Marketing or Broadcasting to describe a target market or audience.
