Etymology: < uni- comb. form 1 + lineal adj.Previous versions of the OED give the stress as: uniˈlineal.
1. Physical Anthropology. Of or relating to a kinship system in which group membership, inheritance, etc., are established through either the father's or the mother's lineage. Opposed to multilineal adj.
