Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: addressable adj., -ity suffix.
Etymology: < addressable adj. + -ity suffix: see -bility suffix. In quot. 1955 after Dutch aanspreekbaarheid (1951 in this sense, in the passage translated); compare German Ansprechbarkeit (used in this sense by E. Brunner 1934).
Chiefly Computing and Broadcasting.
The property or quality of being addressable; spec. the ability to direct a signal or information to individual users.
