Origin: Formed within English, by compounding; modelled on a Latin lexical item. Etymons: uni- comb. form, porous adj.
Etymology: < uni- comb. form + porous adj., after post-classical Latin uniporosus (1824 or earlier). Compare polyporous adj.Compare the following earlier example of uniporose (compare -ose suffix1):1832 C. Don Gen. Hist. Dichlamydeous Plants II. 789/1 Anthers oblong, thick, arched, each furnished with a very short connective in front at the base, and terminating in a short, uniporose beak at the apex.
