Etymology: In sense 1 < un- prefix1 + law v. (compare sense 3 at that entry) + -ed suffix1. In sense 2 < un- prefix1 + law n.1 + -ed suffix2; compare lawed adj.
Now rare.
1. Of a dog: that has not been lawed or expeditated (law v. 3, expeditate v.); not having had the forefeet mutilated to prevent it from chasing game. historical in later use.
