Compare later nervate adj.With the use in quot. 1725 compare Scaliger Poetices (1561) 215 Multo leuiore sono, abiectioribus, laxioribusque numeris ita reddidit, ‘He rendered them thus with a much smoother sound, and with more commonplace and slacker verses’.
Obsolete.
