Origin: A borrowing from Duala. Etymon: Duala bobiŋga.
Etymology: < Duala bobiŋga. Compare French bubinga (1907 or earlier).Duala is a Bantu language spoken in Cameroon.
The hard, fine-grained timber of any of several tropical African leguminous trees of the genus Guibourtia, which is typically reddish in colour and used esp. to make veneers, furniture, and musical instruments. Also: a tree producing such timber.Also called African rosewood.
