Etymology: < post-classical Latin vetation-, vetatio prohibition (5th cent.) < classical Latin vetāt- , past participial stem of vetāre to forbid (see veto n.) + -iō -ion suffix1; compare -ation suffix.
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
A refusal to allow something.
