Etymology: < voodoo n. + -ism suffix. With the β. forms compare French vaudouisme (apparently first attested slightly later: 1865 or earlier).
1. Also with capital initial. The system of religious beliefs and practices constituting voodoo (voodoo n. 1a); the belief in or practice of voodoo.
