Etymology: < well adv. + fleshed adj. In sense 2 originally after Middle French acharné, past participle of acharner (see acharne v.; 1581 in the passage translated in quot. 1586).
1. Having a substantial amount of flesh; plump, fleshy, well-covered. Also: having the right amount of flesh. Also figurative.
