Etymology: Variant or alteration of upsadaisy int. (compare β. forms at that entry), either after whoops int. or perhaps directly after whoop int. and related words. Compare note at upsadaisy int.The following use as an (apparently punning) song title probably implies earlier currency of the interjection:1914 Daily Tel. 9 Feb. 6/2 A waltz song, with a taking lilt and the engaging title of ‘Whoopsy, Daisy!’Compare also whoopsie int.
