Forms: Also winsey, winsie. Plural winseys, occasionally winsies.
Etymology: originally Scots; apparently alteration of woolsey in linsey-woolsey n., through the medium of the assimilated form *linsey-winsey.
A very durable cloth having a linen warp and a woollen weft. (occasionally A garment made of this.) Also attributive.
