N.E.D. (1921) also records a form Middle English ȝurs.
Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: your pron., English -s.
Etymology: < your pron. + genitive ending -s; compare hers pron.1, ours pron., theirs pron. Compare yourn pron. On the history of use with singular reference see discussion at you pron., adj., and n.In Old English (and in early Middle English in late copies of material of Old English composition) ēowres occurs as the regular masculine and neuter genitive singular of the possessive adjective ēower your adj. (compare e.g. quots. OE2, c1175 at your adj. 1a(a)); there is also an isolated attestation in Old English of this form (neuter genitive) used as a noun in sense ‘that which belongs to you’ (compare sense A. 3c):OE Laws of Æðelstan (Corpus Cambr. 201) i. v. 148 Nelle ic, þæt ge me mid unrihte ahwar aht gestrynan; ac ic wille eowres geunnan eow rihtlice [OE Nero ic wille eowres agenes geunnan eow rihtlice; L. sed omnia uestra uobis concedo], on þa gerad þe ge me geunnan mines. Compare also the irregular construction represented by Old English ēowres (the masculine and neuter genitive singular of the possessive adjective) in collocation with an indefinite pronoun (in the genitive case), in which ēowres is apparently functioning as the genitive of the personal pronoun (the expected form is ēower your pron.) and both words are in agreement with each other (quot. c1475 appears to show a similar isolated use in Middle English); see B. Mitchell Old Eng. Syntax (1985) §301. There is unlikely to be any continuity of use between these constructions and yours pron. For examples compare:OE Wærferð tr. Gregory Dialogues (Corpus Cambr.) (1900) iii. xxxiii. 243 Gelyfað ge me nu þyses, þæt in næniges eowres muð [L. in nullius uestrum ore] nu todæge ne cymþ hlaf, buton þes cniht si genered ær.lOE King Ælfred tr. Boethius De Consol. Philos. (Bodl.) (2009) I. xxx. 305 Gif ge willað þone fruman sceaft geþencan..& siððan eowres ælces acennednesse.c1475 Brome Abraham & Isaac in N. Davis Non-Cycle Plays & Fragm. (1970) 54 I schall mvltyplye ȝowrys botherys sede As thyke as sterrys be in the skye.
