Dentistry. A filling of gold, porcelain, or other suitable material which is pre-formed to the required shape and then cemented into a cavity.
An inlay or onlay which is held in place partly by a pin or pins inserted in the tooth.
A pinlay, esp. one covering the lingual surface of a tooth and dependent on pins inserted in ledges cut in the tooth for retention and stability.
