A type of beam trawl consisting of a net attached to a rigid frame with a hoop on either side, used to collect organisms dwelling on the sea floor.Unlike a standard beam trawl, an Agassiz trawl has a supportive beam for both the top and bottom of the net, which means that it will catch effectively even if upside down. It is used chiefly for research purposes.
