Truth and Reconciliation Commission, theˌTruth and Reconciliˈation Comˌmission, the (abbreviation the TRC)in South Africa, a group of people that was chosen by the government to find out the truth about crimes committed (commit ) during the time of apartheid, in order to help the people of South Africa to live together in peace. Its chairman was Archbishop Desmond tutu. The commission gave its final report in 1998.
