: infection with or disease caused by bacteria of the genus Campylobacter (such as C. jejuni) that is marked especially by diarrhea, abdominal cramping and pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue and that may become life-threatening in immunocompromised individuals

Note: Campylobacteriosis is typically associated with the handling of raw poultry or the consumption of unpasteurized dairy products (as milk) or undercooked poultry. It is also transmitted in water or produce contaminated with infected animal waste.
