Note: Word apparently introduced by the Polish-American political scientist and diplomat Zbigniew Brzezinski (1928-2017), perhaps first in the December 23, 1967, issue of the New Republic. The source of the -e- as a linking vowel between techno- and electronic, rather than the expected -o- or -i-, is uncertain.
