a semipermanent subtropical high in the North Atlantic Ocean, centered near the Azores during the winter and early spring: when the system is displaced westward and becomes centered near Bermuda during the summer and early fall, it is known as the Bermuda high .
Also called Ber·mu·da-A·zores high [ber-myoo-duh-uh-zawrz-hahy, ey-zawrz] /bərˈmyu də əˈzɔrz ˈhaɪ, ˈeɪ zɔrz/ .
