释义 | Chambers, Dwain From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishChambers, DwainDwain ChambersCham‧bers, Dwain /ˈtʃeɪmbəz $ -ərz, dweɪn/(1978–) a British sprinter (=someone who runs fast races over short distances) who held the junior 100 metres world record. In 2003 he was banned (ban) from racing for two years because he had taken an illegal drug in order to improve his performance, and he was also banned from ever competing in the Olympics. In 2006 he began competing in races again and in March 2008 he won a silver medal at the World Indoor Championships. In 2008 he unsuccessfully tried to become a Rugby League player with the Castleford Tigers. |
