In 2008 she became a judge on The X Factor, a singing competition broadcast on television. She is known for having an attractive appearance, wearing fashionable clothes, and for her Geordie (=from Newcastle) accent. The media sometimes describe her as the ‘nation’s sweetheart’. She used to be married to Ashley Cole, an English football player.
