He is regarded as one of the most important writers of the 20th century, and he won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1948. His works include The Cocktail Party, The Waste Land, and The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock. The musical show Cats is based on his poems called Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats.
