begpacker

There’s evidence of use of the noun begpacker and related activity noun begpacking for the last couple of years or so. The terms are of course playful blends of verb beg with nouns backpacker/backpacking. The word backpack (a bag carried on a person’s back) first appeared in the early 1900s, around a decade later becoming a verb meaning to walk or travel while carrying belongings in this kind of bag.
