Iamantau

a mountain massif in the Bashkir ASSR. The highest massif in the Southern Urals, Iamantau reaches an elevation of 1,640 m. It is composed of schists and quartzites. Its extremely rugged slopes are covered with mixed forests. Rock streams and grass-moss tundra are found above 1,250 m.
