biodynamic massage

biodynamic massage

A type of bodywork based on Swedish massage, Reichian therapy, deep breathing and relaxation, intended to provide in-depth awareness of the body as an embodiment of a psychological and energetic process.
It is touted as a treatment for stress, psychosomatic symptoms, or as an adjuct to psychotherapy. It can also be used by a body psychotherapist as a modality within the therapeutic relationship. There is a constant tension between the healing/treatment aspects of biodynamic massage and the process/relational side.
The are no peer-reviewed data to suggest that this modality works as intended.
