Govorun, Nikolai Nikolaevich

 

Born Mar. 18, 1930, at the khutor (hamlet) of Shevchenko, Voroshilovgrad Oblast. Soviet mathematician. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1972). Member of the CPSU since 1961.

Govorun graduated from Moscow State University in 1953. In 1958 he became a staff member of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research at Dubna in Moscow Oblast. His works deal with the integral equations of the diffraction of electromagnetic waves and the development of computer software and systems.

Govorun has been awarded the Bulgarian Order of Cyril and Methodius, two Soviet orders, and various medals.
