ADAM1aia8 ADAM1aia8 An ADAMs family protein encoded by ADAM8 on chromosome 10q26.3. It functions as an osteoclast stimulating factor. It is expressed in granulocytes, monocytes, macrophages and may play a role in extravasation of leukocytes. ADAM 8 is involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions; the soluble form cleaves myelin basic protein and may be involved in cell adhesion during neurodegeneration. |
