High Performance Routing

High Performance Routing

(networking)(HPR) Routing designed to work in conjunctionwith APPN Intermediate Session Routing (ISR) networknodes. HPR nodes perform many of the same functions as ISRnodes. For example, HPR nodes use the same method ofcalculating routes based on the Topology Routing Servicedatabase and class of service tables. HPR nodes alsosupports such APPN features as connection networks and supportfor parallel transmission groups (TGs). In the HPRarchitecture, both partner nodes must support HPR for RTPconnections to take place between the nodes. If one nodesupports HPR and the partner node does not, then the link willsupport ISR functionality only.
