Special Features:Erected in 1874, Memorial was the first publicly-funded statue in NewHampshire. It commemorates the courage of Hannah Duston, who escapedafter being taken prisoner in 1697 during the French and Indian War.The monument is located on a small island at the confluence of theContoocook and Merrimack rivers.
