Hanoverian Horse

a breed developed in the 18th century in Hanover, Germany, by the crossbreeding of local draft horses with coach and saddle horses. There are various types of Hanoverian horses, ranging from saddle horses to massive coach horses. The breed is mainly distinguished by its great height, massive size, and large frame and by its calm temperament and good movements. The saddle type of the Hanoverian horse is highly valued in equestrian sports. The measurements of the Hanoverian horse (in centimeters) are height at the withers, 158-169, circumference of the chest, 183-200, and circumference of the shank, 20-23. It weighs 550-690 kg. Hanoverian horses are usually bay, more rarely chestnut or gray. There is a stud farm for Hanoverian horses in the USSR in the city of Cherniakhovsk in Kaliningrad Oblast.
